When the church truly repents

When the church truly repents – I know that the nation will be transformed. The problem is the church is waiting for the world to repent.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

We have been waiting for the world to repent and pray for the land to be healed.

The problem with that posture is the following

  • we are denying that we are his people so we want the world to repent
  • we are denying that we are called by his name – because we are not the world

I wonder do we even read the prayer of Daniel in Chapter 9. If we do, don’t we feel something compelling us to repent on behalf of our nation.
The next thing that I need to ask is if we have not taken the place given to us by the above scriptures and separate ourselves from the world then are we still a people that are called to a royal priesthood?

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood , a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”

Because priests stand before God on behalf of their nations

  • Our responsibility is not just to have dominion (kingship) in the earth but to be be priests before God.
  • As long as we are still patiently waiting for the world to repent the world will continue to progress on its current trajectory with darkness being glorified

My prayer today,

Watchman awaken and watch the gates
You watchmen that have been set the walls;
Let us never hold our peace day or night.
we who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent,

Let us cry out unto him today
Have mercy upon us, O God, According to Your loving kindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out our transgressions.
Wash us thoroughly from our iniquities, And cleanse us from our sin.
For we acknowledge our transgressions, And our sins are always before us.
Against You, You only, have we sinned, And done this evil in Your sight—
Purge us with hyssop, and we shall be clean; Wash us, and we shall be whiter than snow.
Hide Your face from our sins, And blot out all our iniquities.
Create in us a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within us.
Do not cast us away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from us.

Restore to us the joy of Your salvation, And uphold us by Your generous Spirit.
Deliver us from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, The God of our salvation,

To the church of the Living God – Hear the words of the prophet Hosea
Hosea 6: 1 (NKJV) “Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.”

Hosea 10: 12 (NKJV) “…For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.”
