How do you know what God is really like? Hebrews 1:3 gives us a stunning answer: Jesus is “the express image of His person”—not a representation, but an exact imprint. Every attempt to redefine God apart from Christ results in distortion. Theology becomes personal when believers realize God has shown us His face.
Our culture loves spiritual vagueness—a divine force, a higher power, cosmic energy. But Hebrews 1:3 declares something specific and stunning: Jesus is “the brightness of His glory.” God doesn’t hide behind mystery. He shines through His Son. And any pursuit of God that bypasses Christ isn’t devotion—it’s deception.
We’ve domesticated Jesus, reducing Him to a wise teacher whose advice we can take or leave. But Hebrews 1:2 shatters this comfortable image: “through whom also He made the worlds.” The Christ we worship isn’t a product of history—He authored it. And that changes everything about how we approach Him.
