By glory and virtue
Have you heeded the call? Do you know him? and do you accept him?
2 Peter 1:4 (KJV) “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2 Peter 1:4 (ESV) “by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”
2 Peter 1:4 (AMP) “By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.”
The purposes of his exceedingly great promises!
So that you may escape not from the world, but from the moral decay that is in the world!
The reason for moral decay in the world.
Lust and greed!
Escape so that you can be partakers of the his divine nature!
Hallelujah! What a promise! You have every reason to escape from covetousness!
