There are many that walked with Jesus not to seek eternal life but to find fault. Their objective was to condemn him and not to worship him. They were building a solid case against him and his message. For every miracle he performed – their accusation – it was a work of the devil. For every word he spoke – their accusation – it was blasphemy! These were not ignorant men for amongst them were – historians, scholars, judges, elders, counselors, politicians, educators, scribes, tax collectors, priests, common people, adulterous, war mongers, harlots, concubines, murderers, back-bitters, and many more!
I wonder, how many had their suspicions aroused and confirmed when he went against conventional wisdom to not only heal but make whole those regarded of low-esteem, low socio-economic status, peasants, prostitutes, low-lives, uncouth, and ‘outright sinners’
Well that was then but I ask you today – how many have you judged as not worthy of his love and time? How many have you accused God of visiting or healing that you thought merited not such divine a grace!
Today Lord it I that stands in need of prayer!
