Purpose

Judges 9:8-15 (KJV) “8 The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us. 9 But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? 10 And the trees said to the fig tree, Come thou, and reign over us. 11 But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees? 12 Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us. 13 And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? 14 Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us. 15 And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.”
Matthew 6:33 (KJV) “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

In this prayer, we pray for an understanding of purpose. Why purpose is of greater importance into our lives. You can not allow man-made opportunities to derail the purpose that God has for your life. Do not allow temporary gain or pleasures to stand in the way of what God has purposed for your life. Your purpose was given to you before you were formed in your mother’s womb. God knew the conditions and what it was going to take for you to achieve that purpose. Bear in mind that God does not make mistakes, he knew exactly who you were going to be, where you were going to be born, who your parents were going to be, and what challenges you were going to face in life. Yet He still sent you here on earth to achieve that purpose. He knows that it can be done, through you by the empowering of His Spirit. We need to ask God to reveal his purpose for our lives and for His grace to be upon us so that we can achieve it.
