CHRIST THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE
Ephesians 4:8, 11 (NKJV) “Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.” And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers”
HE GAVE GIFTS to men
Men did not gift themselves and that has not changed. A man cannot generate these gifts by himself. As a stone you cannot choose where you are going to be placed, it is the builder! (side note – He is the Potter and we are the clay, He is the Creator and we are the creation).
and HE HIMSELF GAVE
He is the administrator of these gifts and not men. It has not been given to men to distribute these gifts but it is HE ALONE!
TO SOME
this means not all are given to be – SOME STILL MEANS SOME AND NOT ALL – unless we have changed the meaning to justify our ignorance!
Since the foundation – the principle/ way (of the apostles and prophets) – has been laid and the CHIEF CORNERSTONE established (chosen and set)! We need to stop pretending that they are ours to distribute.
There is no money( wealth and riches), fame, scholarstic achievements (a worthwhile pursuit and highly recommended), reputation (real or perceived), following (friends, likes, fans, retweets,or followers), or wisdom ( of man) that can gives these gifts to you. It is CHRIST ALONE
