Our shortcomings and short sightedness have contributed to the lost cause of this generation. O the pain that we will feel in our hearts, for having reached heaven and be charged with having contributed to the missing generation. Forgive us for the drugs we have sold to our children, forgive us for having allowed our children to be given into temptation, forgive us for the money we have provided for our children to buy guns. Forgive us Father for the pornography that has enticed our children, for the television that has distanced our children from you. Forgive us for alienating our children. For not having taken the time to tell the true purpose to life. Forgive us for not teaching them the true source of all things in life.
My heart weeps sore for all that we have contributed. My heart is overwhelmed with shame when I see how much we have neglected that which God assigned us to do. God forgive us for we have sinned against thee. We have left other religions and doctrines to be taught to our children, we have not raised a voice; we have glorified other disciplines of education yet we have despised the beginning of all wisdom. Over the years we have witnessed a rampant increase of other influences yet we have not raised our voices or done anything to reverse our predicament. Lord, we are ashamed of not proclaiming your word to your generation. It seems we have desired for them to suffer the things that we suffered until they realize that they need you. We have not given them reason to believe you Lord. Father forgive for us for our disobedience, let not our sins visit this generation or any after us. Let us provide them sustenance in your word. Let us establish your word in their hearts, let us prophesy of your goodness in their infancy, let us teach them to pray not only for their food but for all things and in all things. Let us teach them that there is only one God. Let us teach them that no matter what they obtain it will never fill the void which is your place Lord. Let us teach them the reason why we were created. Let us not be afraid of them thinking less of us because we weep before you. Let us not be ashamed to go on our knees in their presence. Let us not be ashamed to praise you in their presence. Let us not be ashamed to dance before and for you in their presence. Let us not be ashamed to humble our selves before you in their presence.
Father, forgive us for the children of our sins, children who we birthed in our indulgences, children that we birthed in our ignorance. Father forgive us for the off-spring of our disobedience, forgive us for the children we birthed in our fornication, forgive us Lord for the children we birthed in our adulteries, Lord forgive us of the unrighteous thoughts we have allowed to project onto our children. Father, forgive us for the children we birthed in our mischief. Forgive us for the children we named after other gods. Father, forgive us for not having prayed before we named our children. Forgive us for not naming your children to reflect your destiny for their lives. Father, forgive us for the curses we pronounce on them when we call them by name.
