Sanctification & Opinions

John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (KJV)

Everyone has an opinion, and yes even in the church. We have elevated our opinions to the same status as or even above the WORD of God. This has resulted in many divisions in the body of Christ.  We need to understand that opinions do not sanctify people but only the WORD does. No matter how holy our opinions sound they do not do the work of sanctification. Our endeavors to defend our opinions and not the WORD of God are the very thoughts and vein imaginations that must be cast down

2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”. (KJV)

Consider this:

John 3:6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (KJV)

Religion and its associated traditions have opinions for their genesis. These are all of the flesh therefore they cannot attain that which is of the Spirit
