Jesus did not go to the cross to give you a hallelujah shout, a cute song or phraseology to use. He did it to fulfill the perfect will of the father. He did not do it because you love him or because you have done such good and remarkable things.
The bible does not say “for humanity loved God so much that he gave His only begotten son”, but it clearly states that “for God so loved the world that he gave”. It does not say that God was so impressed by our worship, prayers, intercession and sacrifices that he gave. Even though these things are important, because they bring us closer to God as he draws closer to us, He gave because he loved us.
