No man can attain true righteousness on his own. He can not even maintain on his own should he attain by his own strength even it is given unto him.
Why? Because unrighteousness is the normal to a man left to his own devices.
A counterpoint, however, sees that there is a way that a man can attain righteousness on his own. He will define righteousness according to his standards or redefine his present ideals, values, and nature as righteousness. Things within his capacity to attain and maintain. However, the question is, ‘Is this true righteousness?’
Perhaps these questions amongst many should be asked concerning righteousness:
Is there true righteousness?
If there is true righteousness, who created it?
What does it look like?
Is it possible to obtain it?
How does one obtain it?
What does it cost to obtain it?
How does one maintain it?
Finally is there any value in having righteousness?
